Salvation From the Beginning
The Bible often speaks about salvation as something far more tangible and visible than we may imagine. In the Hebrew Scriptures, God saves Israel with an outstretched arm, through his mighty hand, and by revealing his salvation before the eyes of the nations. In this teaching, we explore the biblical concept of "salvation" יְשׁוּעָה (yeshuah), beginning with the Exodus and the crossing of the Sea of Reeds. We examine how the Hebrew Bible describes God's salvation through the imagery of the "arm of the LORD," and how this language overflows into later Jewish apocalyptic and mystical literature.
