Psalm 1 in Hebrew with English Translation

Psalm 1 describes two paths, two choices, and two directions that one can take in life. If you are on Hashem's path be strengthened. If you are not, wake up! Let these ancient words speak to you wherever you are.

אַשְׁרֵי־הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא הָלַךְ בַּעֲצַת רְשָׁעִים
וּבְדֶרֶךְ חַטָּאִים לֹא עָמָד
וּבְמוֹשַׁב לֵצִים לֹא יָשָׁב
כִּי אִם בְּתוֹרַת יהוה חֶפְצוֹ
וּבְתוֹרָתוֹ יֶהְגֶּה יוֹמָם וָלָיְלָה
וְהָיָה כְּעֵץ שָׁתוּל עַל־פַּלְגֵי מָיִם
אֲשֶׁר פִּרְיוֹ יִתֵּן בְּעִתּוֹ וְעָלֵהוּ לֹא־יִבּוֹל
וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂה יַצְלִיחַ
לֹא־כֵן הָרְשָׁעִים
כִּי אִם־כַּמֹּץ אֲשֶׁר־תִּדְּפֶנּוּ רוּחַ
עַל־כֵּן לֹא־יָקֻמוּ רְשָׁעִים בַּמִּשְׁפָּט
וְחַטָּאִים בַּעֲדַת צַדִּיקִים
כִּי־יוֹדֵעַ יהוה דֶּרֶךְ צַדִּיקִים
וְדֶרֶךְ רְשָׁעִים תֹּאבֵד

Blessed is one who does not follow the advice of wicked
And on the path of sinners does not stand
Who does not stay in the gathering of scoffers
But instead delights in the ADONAI’S (LORD’S) teachings
And meditates on those instructions day and night
Such a person is like a tree planted by flowing waters
Which bears its fruit in a proper time and its leaves never turn
And such a person succeeds in everything
Not so with the wicked people
They are like chaff carried by the wind
Which is why the wicked cannot endure any scrutiny
And sinners cannot remain in the company of righteous
The way of the upright is known to ADONAI (LORD)
But the way of wicked will be ruin.
