Jesus Among the Rabbis

Jesus, or as he was known to his family and friends, Yeshua, was a teacher of Torah's wisdom, a first-century rabbi. And he was surrounded by other rabbis with similar and sometimes alternative ideas that the gospels document well. This video is a lecture by Dr. Brad Young, who is an emeritus professor of the Graduate School of Theology at Oral Roberts University. In this presentation, he looks at some gospel passages and considers how they would have sounded in Hebrew to the original audience. How could these texts be understood today, taking into consideration the spiritual life of the first-century Jewish community, and the beliefs and practices of that day?
