I would venture to say that, depending on your unique interests, each one sometimes struggles with things that pull us in and captivate us completely. These interests could be good things, even very positive and honorable things. I am simply wondering if those are the things we need to focus on? I am wondering if they aligned with what Hashem wants for us or is it just us getting distracted? Naturally. Only you can answer this for yourself and your life. And you may even need Hashem’s help to answer that one. In our weekly reading, Moshe charges the Israelites not to copy what they see pagans do and not to learn from them, especially in how they worship. Devarim, Deut 12:4 literally says, “Don’t do this way to Hashem,” lo ta’asu ken l'ADONAI eloheykhem.
